Standard instructions on how to reset a user’s MFA method.
First go to Azure and look up the users NWFSC.edu account
Scroll down and select “Manage MFA authentication methods”
If the user has a new device remove the previous phones details and hit the “Require Re-register multifactor authentication" button.
Once the user has downloaded Microsoft authenticator on a new device
Then tell the user to log out of all instances of raider-net and/or apps that require MFA, then to try and log in again. (Make sure Microsoft authenticator is open on the new device during this process.) This should start the re-registration process, and the user should be good to go.
If the user is just having trouble logging in with authenticator in the same Manage MFA area click “Revoke multifactor authentication sessions” then the “Require re-register multifactor authentication” with the user logging out of all instances as well and trying to log in again.
Todd Note
“The easiest way for them to link the account is to sign in on a device other than their phone. Scanning the QR code through the scanner on the app itself seems to be the most surefire method for easily and correctly linking the account."
